Bad Kötzting - A European Partner within the Douzelage
The name DOUZELAGE stands for a partnership which came into being in 1991 following an initiative from Granville / France.
Originally, it included twelve small or medium-sized towns from the states that made up the EU at the time. Meanwhile there are twenty members. Bad Kötzting is proud to be the German partner and also one of the founding members.

The basis for this cooperation is the idea that the making of Europe cannot only be stipulated "from above" but must grow "from below" on the level of the local authority districts.
Each EU state dispatches a partner town. Meetings are on a regular basis to discuss and further develop the possibilities for cooperation. What is highlighted here are cultural activities, youth exchange projects, professional experience and tourism.
